We had to drive through a snowstorm, but managed to get ahead of it after an hour or so. The rest of the trip east was fine. Mexican food and then "last of the mohicans" that night.
Then came the big day in NYC. We drove in for a change. Makes more sense than the train when traffic isn't bad (as in a Saturday), and when there are more than two people. We bought all-day subway passes and made good use of them.
We hit the Museum of Modern Art. It was pretty neat - we saw lots of interesting stuff, including lots that had us scratching our heads. Good impressionism works too.
Barry needed a book at Columbia U. Library so we walked around the impressive campus a bit. Then it was down to Greenwich Village for lunch/supper at the Bamboo Cafe. Good place for vegan food that looks and tastes like meat. Very good.
Magnolia Bakery has world-famous cupcakes, and you could tell by the 1-hour line outside. I personnaly didn't think they were that special - pretty standard stuff. Veronica had made some lemon vegan cupcakes that were *MUCH* better.
Then it was over to Times Square to see the movie "Persepolis". I thought it was ok - just ok.
Finally it was the 1-hour drive back home. It had been a long long day.
